November 2 this year. in Astana was the jubilee X International Conference on Transport and Transit Potential "TransEurasia-2017" on the topic "New Eurasia: development of transport and logistics systems on the Euro-Asian transcontinental routes".
About 300 delegates from the countries of the Euro-Asian region representing state bodies, the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as intergovernmental, international and regional organizations, financial institutions, transport associations and companies took part in the conference.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was devoted to the topic: "New Eurasia: development of transport and logistics systems on the Euro-Asian transcontinental routes", the urgency of which is conditioned by the deepening of economic integration processes in the Eurasian space.
The major transport projects implemented within the framework of the State Program for Infrastructure Development "Nurly Zhol" for 2015-2019 were highlighted in detail, the Minister Zhenis Kasymbek called for cooperation both at the intergovernmental level and between the business community for the integration of key transport corridors and routes in the Eurasian space.
In addition, the speakers of the plenary session exchanged views on the key aspects of the development of national transport infrastructures, the functioning of an efficient transit transport system and transcontinental transport corridors in the Eurasian space.
In general, the growing global role and regional importance of the creation of Eurasian transcontinental routes in the direction of Europe-Asia was noted with a view to strengthening trade and economic relations between the regions. Also, the conference participants highly appreciated the contribution made by international financial institutions like ADB and EBRD in building the architecture of regional transport links.
In conclusion, the participants adopted Resolution X of the International Conference on Transport and Transit Potential "TransEurasia-2017".
